FAIR 2016 – Day 5

Today was another -- and the last, I promise -- day off from The Fair. YAY and BOO.

Were it not for my knee, we probably would have tried to squeeze today's few normal-life appointments around walking the midway and finding out what a Foghat is. But still attempting to be a responsible grown-up (sigh), I suggested we take the day as a last break before The Fair really steps into high gear tomorrow.

Yep, starting tomorrow we will be Fairing FIVE days straight 'til the end on Sunday! WEEEEE!

In all honesty, the second half of the Fair is my favorite. I love the noisy events in the grandstands -- especially my beloved demolition derby -- that begin tomorrow night.

And my most favorite llama in the whole wide world finally arrives!! Yes, Rojo the Llama will be at the Fair starting tomorrow! With my wiggly jiggly knee, I haven't been able to hang with Rojo as much the past several months, so I am VERY eager to get me some good llama llovin' during the next five days.

Rojo's arrival means Rob and I will soon be hanging out in the Llama Greenway with even more frequency. We like to linger and tell people all about the wonders of Rojo and his buddies and animal-assisted therapy. Sometimes we even wait for the people to ask questions first.

So to rest up for all the coming excitement, today was just an average day doing average things eating average food -- except for two departures with dinner. Because Fair Week.

Here's a little picture parade of the day. Check back tomorrow as we return to our regularly scheduled Fair Fanatic Feasting and Funning!

Oh, and whopping 789 steps today which equals an impressively low 0.3 mile of walking. YAY resting!

Tuesday morning study of a Really Important Book
with some Really Fun People.  Today we discussed
patience.  Thankfully gluttony isn't on the schedule.

My favorite salad for lunch!  It's just tomatoes,
cucumbers, onions, parsley, and vinegar but it
is SO GOOD!  LOVE the Pita House in the BG.

Three small loads and then the Self-Clean Cycle
for the first time ever on these new machines.
I thought the 4:01 timer meant 4 minutes.
4 hours later I finally got my machine back.

I think she was crying.  Like that narrows it down.
I watched the season off and on with a friend.
I taped the finale a few weeks ago and finally tried to
watch it.  Turns out I really didn't care which bachelor
she picked, even if one has a famous, mysteriously estranged brother.

Spent some (lots) of time on the couch with an ice pack
and a purring cat.  Life is good.

A BBQ celebrating the opening of a new playground for
a non-profit we care a lot about. If my knee had allowed,
I would have totally hop-scotched and played with the sidewalk chalk.

Costco hot dog for dinner.  Very tasty and I would have had
a second one but people were watching.

Fritos!!!  I never eat Fritos!!  I LOVE salt.  Fritos are glorious.
Yay Fair Week!

Drumstick of the ice cream variety for dessert.  It was
very frozen so I stayed in this pose for a bit trying
to pry my teeth loose.  I also remembered I don't
like nuts on my ice cream.  Oops.

Still hungry so we stopped at Wendy's for more food without
anyone watching.  Side garden salad with vinegrette dressing.
Yeah, I'm bored with this food parade, too.
Can't wait for tomorrow!!!
