- I look hideous in a Snuggie™. It’s no wonder monks are celibate.
- Seen on the back of a large EconoLine passenger van: two large Christian fish things and eight tiny ones swimming in a school behind them. A very clever take on the “here’s my family make-up” decals discussed previously (see July27).
- I really do not enjoy cooking. I tried it twice last week.
- A glittery devil-horns headband is an extraordinarily fun impulse buy at Target.
- Waiting seven years before opening a bottle of a light white wine is a sign of poor cellar management.
- Front-loader washing machines are known for having a mold issue. It took me only eight years to get in-the-know.
- I can be pretty handy with a ratcheting TORX screwdriver when I want to be.
- Latex gloves are not sufficient for preventing fingers-o-fire when chopping jalapeno peppers. Well, at least not 30 of them.
- I know someone who didn’t realize “Disco Duck” was an actual song in the ‘70s and not just a cute track on her beloved Mickey Mouse Disco album from her (much more recent) childhood.
- I very reluctantly had to admit to myself that the font size on a friend's blog was too small for me to read. I really had no choice, as my laptop's screen was covered with noseprints. Bifocals can't be that far away now. Good grief. At least for now, though, I've found the highly helpful "Text Size-Larger" tool in the "View" drop-down menu. With any luck, I'll soon forget I've changed the setting.
- Our mail delivery lady got upgraded to an actual USPS-issued mail truck, forever replacing her personal maroon minivan that she impressively drove from the passenger seat. While I’m sure she’s a lot safer…not to mention more comfortable…this sign of progress makes me sad and mopey. Next they’ll be wanting to put us on city sewer. Bah.

Just looking around
Yeah, I’ve been distracted lately and just not feeling the groove of writing. I’m hoping that will change early next week. Stay tuned. In the meantime, here are some random observations of the past few weeks:

I'm assuming the small font issue is Kelsey's blog. I just checked and it is a bit on the tiny side. The youth these days!
I feel your pain. The eye doctor keeps telling me things are going to change, and he's always right! I've had the same vision for about 20 years. I'm quite happy with it and I'm not ready to change yet. I'm not a fan of this gettin' old thing!
Tony
Oh man, is it my blog that was giving you issues? It's standardized at size 12 TNR, but if people are having issues I'll remember to up the font size next time.
Yep, Kelsey, it is your blog that I was talking about. I have a wine blog that uses that same theme and I have a hard time reading it, too. I'm thinking maybe it's the dark background. Don't worry about changing anything. I can easily "up the font" now that I know how. :-)
