Is it just me, or does Starbucks stink? I mean literally reek.
A few days ago, a friend and I hung out in the local (ok, ONLY) Starbucks in town for about 45 minutes. As I was driving home, I realized that my shirt smelled of old coffee. Stale, icky coffee like that stuff crusted at the bottom of a break room’s orange-rimmed coffee pot. I realized the next day the stench also permeated my fine washables, if you catch my Dreft. And my jeans. Man, my whole laundry basket smells like old coffee grounds.
I’m not a regular customer at Bucky’s, so I’m not sure if this was a one-time thing or if this stinky lingering aroma is just part of the culture of coffee bar flies. I’m just thinking maybe I finally understand the real reason why Starbucks’ drive-thrus are always much more crowded than the jazz-infused “hang and look cool…but emerge smelly” dining rooms. Blech.
