It was successful enough to make it annual

Received in our mailbox and addressed to us personally (not “Occupant” “Current Resident” or “Gentleman Farmer”): a flyer announcing the 2nd Annual Small Acreage Expo hosted by the local extension of our state university. Door Prizes, Vendors, and Much More!

Among the sessions we can attend:
  • Mud, Mud Go Away! – Interesting, but we’ve really got more of a moss problem. And deer. And rabbits.
  • What Size Tractor Do You Need? – I thought size didn't matter…
  • Manure Management – Having worked in large corporations, I believe we’ve got some experience with this one already.
  • Weed Identification & Management – “Weed. Weed. Weed. Flower. Weed.”
  • Marketing Your Small Farm Business – Will there be llamas??
  • Pasture Assessment Tour – “Yep, that’s a durn pretty pasture you got there. That one yonder is uglier than a wart on a possum.”
  • Soil Testing & Lime Application – Mmmm. Margaritas.
  • Utilizing Manure: Spreader Demo – Ewwww!
Obviously, I'm beyond bummed we already have plans for the day of the big event. Keeping my fingers crossed for next year!
