Where the buffaloes roam

I’m not sure why I keep writing about livestock.

But let me tell you about the most glorious discovery of this past week! Rob found them first and then drove me past them – twice – so I could gawk and gaze and shriek with joy and clap my hands and bounce in the car seat like a toddler who has just been given some more Pepperidge Farm goldfish.

We found two baby buffaloes!!! They are the most adorable things, all fuzzy and humpy. And the best part is, they live just a few farms down from our church which means that I will get to see them at least weekly and chart their progress. Of course, I’m now trying to think ahead for next year and figure out if there were any buffaloes in the Nativity. Llamas, pygmy goats, and buffaloes -- throw in a Baby Jesus and I think we’d be good!

Phew, no lightning strikes here at Woodhaven yet.

For those who don't know Toni very well: When she says "chart their progress", it's likely she means it literally. Don't be surprised to ee a multi-color graph and posted here by summer, demonstrating the inverse relationship between size and cuteness of juvenile buffalo.

Aid, have you been spying on me? Been setting up my spreadsheet. Sadly, we're snowed in so I won't be able to collect this week's data. :-(
